I once got thrown ou of this quarry! Well me and the rest of the A'Level field group... in 1996!

Ahhh those were the days!

This is a great shot though, makes a rather run down looking roadstone quarry look mysterious and other worldly.

Yes, more or less: but this dark satanic mill remains, c/o Corus & easily visible from the M6 as you slip between the ancient Lake District hills. It's a limestone quarry, incidentally - not steelworks, as I first posted. I find it has a bleak industrial elegance about it, especially in that contrasting context :nod:
