Bluetit landing to feed - Scottish country garden, winter 2010.
I hesitated in uploading this, because it didn't look 'clean' enough. But then I kept coming across it & thinking - yes, that's what these manic magical little birds really look like, a blurred splatter of colour, hardly registering on your retina... and then gone. And I thought of all those static, sterile shots you see which - even though you can count every filament on every single perfectly focussed feather - are essentially dry dead specimens, like moths pinned to board in a natural history museum. And I thought - that's not photography, that's just trainspotting... Rant over, nuff said...
That's really pretty! And your rant is spot on. I'm something of a birdwatcher myself, and I never really like photos of birds for that reason. They just look so bland and lifeless, and they look nice, sure, but they don't really show what I like about birds. This is great, though. I love how flaily his little feet are. ^^
